Cadillac is set to launch the 2016 Cadillac LTS aimed to wrestle the luxurious sedan market segment control out of the more established Mercedes S Class. According to our spy shots, the new sedan will have a sophisticated design and a complimenting and luxurious interior. The automaker has taken a completely different approach for this luxury sedan and has built it on a specifically designed platform.
2016 Cadillac LTS Exterior and Interior
As said above, the look is sophisticated. 2016 Cadillac LTS the car will be made on the Omega II platform. The new vehicle will be long, wide and sit low like the Quattroporte. Our spies captured the vehicle on a test ride but it was heavily camouflaged; however, official rendering shows that the car will have a long hood and the signature Cadillac LTS grille flanked by two massive LED headlights. It will also feature unique and stylish body lines that add to its luxurious glamour. The rear is bulky but still beautiful; it features LED taillights and a dual exhaust valve. The vehicle will ride on 21-inch alloy wheels.
2016 Cadillac LTS though we have not been able to photograph its interior, our sources indicate that the interior will very luxurious. To start with, the interior will feature aluminum, high quality leather and premium wood accents. The cabin will accommodate 4 passengers and leave plenty of cargo space. It will also feature the latest technology gadgets and a modern infotainment system. The cabin will be illuminated by LED light. 2016 Cadillac LTS Engine
Under the hood of the 2016 Cadillac LTS, there will be a number of different drive-trains and a hybrid one is probable. The base engine will be a 3.6 L V6 twin turbo unit capable of producing 420 hp and 370 lb-ft of torque. There is also a probability for a 6.2 L either aspirated or turbocharged V8 engine capable of producing over 550 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque. This engine will be featured on the top trim model i.e. the V version to give it the needed muscle to compete with the Mercedes S Class. All engines will be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission system. 2016 Cadillac LTS power will be transmitted to rear wheels though there is an option for AWD.
2016 Cadillac LTS Price and Release Date
The automaker is yet to announce official price and release date. According to rumors going around, the vehicle will be released in late 2015 as a 2016 year model. It will have a starting price of around $75,000. Fierce rivals of the 2016 Cadillac LTS will be Audi A8, BMW 7-Series and Mercedes Benz S-Class.
