The next generation of Audi’s TT sports car is on its way soon, and this preview of the car’s interior flaunts Audi‘s emphasis on high tech as much as high style. The story of this smallest car in Audi lineup begins back in the 1995 with the first concept and gets a real start in the 1998. After the second generation of TT back in the 2006, it is about time to launch the latest, third generation of this great vehicle that is about to happen in the 2014. Following the eight year pattern set, this new 2015 Audi TT will debut as a coupe version with a roadster few months after. So far it is expected to maintain the same length and width as the previous 2006 model with some chassis borrowing from the future R4. It seems like it is not going to be the only thing they have in common – they will also share the same engine, probably a 186-horsepower 1.4 TSI and a 2.0 TDI unit with 170 horsepower under the hood of 2015 Audi TT.
2015 Audi TT: Concept, Specs
After revealing more details, it is easier to talk about what is placed inside of 2015 Audi TT. Judging by the images that are unveiled there is a fully digital instrument display leads the driver’s focus, replacing the need for a central MMI monitor, according to Audi – though we think that might leave passengers in the dark. This “virtual cockpit,” how they call it, is centered around the 12.3-inch display that can switch between classic mode, with a speedometer and tachometer at the forefront or infotainment mode, with the navigation and other functions up front, and the instruments made smaller in the background. Other novelties included are multifunction steering wheel with a flat-bottomed rim and S sport seats with significantly curved side bolsters, low seating position and some airplane wing inspired instrument panel. As for the exterior design, it is highly likely that it will have the sportier and aggressive design language inspired by the latest E-tron concept car. Since there are a lot of similarities with the future R4, the Audi made sure that exterior design isn’t the one of those things for 2015 Audi TT. So they made an effort to maintain the same powerful look the previous 2015 Audi TT had and with adjusting the new headlamps with LED light, a modified rear and new front grille it seem they made their point.
2015 Audi TT: Engine
Although so far powered up with Volkswagen’s PQ35 platform that offered a front engine chassis and front or all wheel drive powertrain, 2015 Audi TT will have a platform of his own, that will offer a mid-engine configuration, and therefore improve both balance and handling. We already mentioned the standard 1.4 liter TSI engine with 186 hp and a 2.0 TDI engine with 170 hp,. We shall notify you that it is planed that a top version model, the 2015 Audi TT-RS, will be powered with 350 hp by 2.5 five-cylinder engine. The next 2015 Audi TT will not only rival the Nissan 370Z , but also the Porsche Cayman, which by then will also enter the next generation. How will that fact affect its selling, remains to be seen.
