Considering the number of launches and strategies BMW has employed, it is evident Infiniti is adamant in competing with this German giant. The company is working on a new coupe; the new 2016 Infiniti QX60, and given the car will be a derivative of the Q50, they two are going to share a number of similarities. Here is what we know about this new 2016 model.
2016 Infiniti QX60 Exterior and Interior
2016 Infiniti QX60 with all that is happening in the car manufacturing industry right now, we expect the production of this new 2016 ride to ditch a good number of conceptual bits; up front, the company will get rid of the aggressive split apron, skinny headlamps, the massive grille and instead use a more production-friendly pieces while at the same time making sure this car boasts a sportier appearance compared with the last model, Q50. The shoulders will be made less muscular and the waistline will drop from right just beneath the windows in line with the front wheel arches. Plus, the spoiler is likely to remain; however, we wouldn’t be surprised to see it become less protruding.
2016 Infiniti QX60 as for the inside; even as we wait for the car to be officially launched, speculation based information is what shroud the interior design of the new 2016 Infiniti Q60; we do not know how much of the concept’s interior will make it into the final production, but the well presented and high quality cabin that we saw at the 2015 Detroit Auto shows seems practical enough. The company has made a considerable amount of changes and we wouldn’t rule out goodies and niceties such as carbon-fiber inserts. As if that is not even enough; inspired by Q80, we are likely to see a complete change in the control layout.
2016 Infiniti QX60 Engine
2016 Infiniti QX60 looking at Infiniti’s current strategy, it will make sense for the company to employ the current coupe’s 3.7 L V6. This unit is capable of producing 330 HP and 270 Pound-feet of torque. In other news, it is also rumored that a hybrid trim version that will have a 3.5 l v6 engine mated to an electric motor is possible. What will be under the hood; only time will tell?
2016 Infiniti QX60 Price and Release Date
Now, considering the current model, Q50 retails somewhere around $41,000 and judging by the number of modifications, outstanding upgrades and impeccable performance, we expect the new 2016 Infiniti QX60 to cost at least $42,000 and not more than $43,000 range, as the company may not want their new machine to be overpriced against its German competition. As for the release date, the car being a 2016 model, expect it to hit a number of dealership mid 2016 Infiniti QX60.
